The four-star Van der Valk Hotel Mechelen is located in a beautiful historic building, constructed in the early 20th century in neo-Flemish Renaissance style. Over the years, the building has served various purposes, including as a warehouse, customs house, and municipal swimming pool.

Since 1997, the building has been protected as a monument. After 15 years of vacancy, it underwent a thorough renovation between 2017 and 2019, transforming into a unique hotel with 126 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, and 8 impressive event halls. The old swimming pool has been preserved and now forms a beautiful ornamental pond in the courtyard.

The Van der Valk Hotel is situated by the Keerdok, just a few minutes by boat from Haverwerf, the departure point for Malinska. On Saturdays and Sundays, you can also enjoy free use of a shuttle boat between the hotel (Keerdok) and the city center (Haverwerf) year-round, an initiative by the city of Mechelen.
