The four-star Van der Valk Hotel Mechelen is located in a beautiful historic building, which was built in the early 20th century in neo-Flemish Renaissance style. Over the years, the building has served various functions, including as a warehouse, customs building and municipal swimming pool.

The building has been a listed monument since 1997. After standing empty for 15 years, it underwent a thorough renovation between 2017 and 2019 and was transformed into a unique hotel with 126 rooms, a restaurant, a bar and eight impressive function rooms. The old swimming pool has been preserved and now forms a beautiful ornamental pond in the courtyard.

The Van der Valk Hotel is located on the Keerdok, just a few minutes by boat from the Haverwerf, the departure point for Malinska. On Saturdays and Sundays in the summer, you can also make use of a free shuttle boat between the hotel (Keerdok) and the city centre (Haverwerf), an initiative of the city of Mechelen.
